Samantha and her attorney, Peter Ticktin, allege that Middleton "might have some very important light to shed" on the defamation case brought against Meghan by Samantha, which was dismissed by a federal judge in March.
The move comes after Samantha claimed in a lawsuit that Meghan made false and hurtful statements about her in interviews and in the Netflix documentary "Harry and Meghan". However, the judge found that Samantha had failed to provide evidence to support her claims.
Undeterred, Samantha and Ticktin are now seeking to involve Middleton in their appeal, hoping she will provide information that could bolster their case. They also allege that Queen Elizabeth II once said Meghan was "evil."
Meghan and Samantha have a strained relationship. Meghan has stated that she grew up as an only child and has denied having a close bond with her half-sister. According to the lawsuit, Samantha changed her last name back to Markle only when Meghan began dating Prince Harry, which Meghan allegedly described as a publicity stunt. Meghan's attorneys have called the lawsuit "baseless and absurd."
The legal battle has drawn attention to the estrangement between Meghan and her half-sister, as well as the ongoing media speculation about the relationship between Meghan and Kate Middleton.
