Taking to a new episode of his show, the ESPN analyst says that the New York Jets was just trying to 'talk s**t,' but he understands why the comedian got pissed off by the athlete's accusations.

AceShowbiz - Pat McAfee has addressed Aaron Rodgers' controversial comments on Jimmy Kimmel that he made on McAfee's show. In a new episode of his YouTube show, the ESPN analyst apologized for his part in the feud between the athlete and the comedian.

On Wednesday, January 3, McAfee started out his show by addressing the beef that was caused by Rodgers' remarks about Kimmel's alleged connection to Jeffrey Epstein. While he believes that the NFL star's comments were meant to be a "s**t talk joke" that turned into a "very serious allegation," he understands why the late-night TV show got "pissed off" by Rodgers' comments.

"Whenever there's accusations made about people, that can lead to lawsuits," McAfee acknowledged. "I can see why Jimmy Kimmel felt the way he felt, especially with his position, but I think Aaron was just trying to talk s**t." He added, "Now, did it go too far? Jimmy Kimmel certainly said that was the case."

"We obviously don't like the fact that we're associated with anything negative ever. We like our show to be an uplifting one. A happy one. A fun one," the 36-year-old continued. "But it's because we talk s**t and try to make light of everything, some things obviously people get very pissed off about, especially when they're that serious of allegations."

Not wanting any part in the drama, McAfee said, "So we apologize for being a part of it." He went on sharing his wish that Rodgers and Kimmel will make peace, adding, "I can't wait to hear what Aaron has to say about it. Hopefully those two will just be able to settle this, you know, not work-wise, but be able to chitchat and move along."

Rodgers insinuated that Kimmel might be one of Epstein's associates during his weekly Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show". "That's supposed to be coming out soon ... A lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, are really hoping that it doesn't happen," he said on the show. "I'll tell you what, if that list comes out I definitely will be popping some sort of bottle."

Catching wind of the athlete's comments, Kimmel blasted Rodgers online via X, formerly Twitter. "Dear A**shole: for the record, I've not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein," he wrote.

Kimmel added, "...nor will you find my name on any 'list' other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can't seem to distinguish from reality." He went on threatening Rodgers with a lawsuit as saying, "Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court. @AaronRodgers12."
