AceShowbiz - Jessica Simpson has drawn mixed reactions following her recent claim about Britney Spears. As a number of people think that she has a similar appearance to that of Britney, the "Take My Breath Away" singer said via social media that she was mistaken for the "…Baby One More Time" singer.
On Saturday, October 14, the 43-year-old singer claimed that she was approached by an unidentified person, who mistook her for Britney and wanted the latter's autograph. "The face when someone in the parking lot at the mall asks you for your autograph, but expects you to sign it Britney Spears," she penned, adding a smiling face with tongue sticking out emoji.
Along with it, the "These Boots Are Made for Walkin' " singer uploaded a never-seen-before photo of her and her daughter Maxwell. In the snap, the mother and daughter duo could be seen showing a shocking facial expression as they opened their mouths widely and looked straight at the camera.
It did not take long for the post to be flooded with mixed online responses from Instagram users. In the comments section, one in particular appeared to have defended Britney by writing, "These comments… SMFH. But I guess that's the reaction Jessica wanted, hence why she posted it. It's not cool to make fun of a woman, whose family ruined her life. I'd venture to guess she's still a nicer human than @jessicasimpson."
Similarly, another chimed in, "Mean Girls Vibes tiskkk tiskkk. Stay classy , not trashy. Putting other women down is NOTHING but trash! Then to teach your own child to do the same. WOW!" Meanwhile, a third pointed out, "I'm honestly not here for this type of shade, & from one woman to another, I truly expected SO much better from you. Terrible example you're both setting AND encouraging."
In the meantime, a fourth is seemingly on Jessica's side. The commenter did not hold back in writing, "LOL you certainly don't look like [Britney Spears], she hasn't showered in years and there never has been or ever will be a comparison to your beauty and class!"
