AceShowbiz - Speculations about who will play time-traveling mutant Cable in "Deadpool 2" have ended once and for all. On Wednesday, April 12, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Cable would be portrayed by Josh Brolin, who also played villain Thanos in some Marvel movies including the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War".
Shortly after the announcement spread online, Deadpool depicter Ryan Reynolds took to his Twitter account to share a portrait of Deadpool's gloved hand and a cup of latte with Brolin's face in it. Alongside the picture, Reynolds wrote a joke in Deadpool voice, "The f**k, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in 'Sicario' and I was in 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch'."

Reynolds might make fun of fans' confusion as many of them questioned why Brolin was cast for Cable role while he had already portrayed Thanos in some of Marvel movies. The Deadpool depicter seemingly wanted to remind fans that "Deadpool" and "Avengers" actually had different universe, just like Brolin-starring "Sicario" (2015) and Reynolds-starring "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" (1996).
Brolin was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 2009's "Milk". His upcoming movies include firefighting adventure film "Granite Mountain" and "Sicario" sequel "Soldado", in which he will star alongside Benicio del Toro. Brolin will also appear in George Clooney's "Suburbicon" as well as drama "The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter". Brolin will reprise his role as Thanos in "Avengers: Infinity War", which is slated to be released on May 4, 2018.
As for Nathan Summers a.k.a. Cable, the character is co-created by "Deadpool" co-creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson. The mutant is described as a complete opposite of Deadpool, as he has a quality of a leader, but with simmering aura of violence within him. In the comics, Cable is the future son of Scott Summers a.k.a Cyclops from "X-Men".
"Deadpool 2" is set to hit U.S. theaters on March 2, 2018. Reynolds will return to the movie as the titular antihero. Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Karan Soni (Dopinder the taxi driver) and Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) are also among the returning actors. Reynolds has announced that "Atlanta" star Zazie Beetz would join the movie as new character Domino.
