AceShowbiz - Sia Furler is back with a new single. On Thursday, September 24, the Australia-born singer/songwriter released online the track called "Alive" as the first preview of her upcoming album "This Is Acting".
The drum-heavy up-tempo ballad was co-written by Sia, Adele and and Tobias Jesso Jr., and was originally meant for the British beauty's new album. The track was eventually rejected by the 26-year-old singer at the last minute.
"It's about Adele's life, so I now sing a song from Adele's perspective," Sia said of the song in a recent interview.
"This Is Acting" will be Sia's first album since last year's "1000 Forms of Fear" which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200. Still having no official release date, the upcoming set is scheduled to come out later this year via Monkey Puzzle Records/RCA Records.
Explaining the title earlier this year, Sia said, "I'm calling it 'This Is Acting' because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn't go into it thinking, 'This is something I would say.' It's more like play-acting. It's fun."
