AceShowbiz - Sony Pictures is moving forward with the idea of developing a new "Ghostbusters" film that would be very different from the one directed by Paul Feig. The planned new flick will be an action-centric comedy with Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd having been recruited to form Ghost Corps, a production company that will develop the film and expand the Ghostbusters universe be it merchandise, film, or TV development, Deadline reports.

"We want to expand the Ghostbusters universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment," Reitman tells the site. "Paul Feig's film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016. He's got four of the funniest women in the world ... the second film has a wonderful idea that builds on that."

In addition to the duo, Sony already tapped Joe and Anthony Russo to direct and produce the new "Ghostbusters" from a script set to be written by Drew Pearce. Channing Tatum and his partners Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan, moreover, are attached to produce with Tatum possibly starring as one of the Ghostbusters.
