AceShowbiz - The "Steve Jobs" movie has secured a release date. On Wednesday, February 4, it was revealed that Universal set the movie starring Michael Fassbender as the Apple co-inventor and Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak for release in the U.S. on October 9, 2015 just in time for awards season.

The studio officially announced the cast and the start of the production late last month. Directed by Danny Boyle with a script from Aaron Sorkin, it also features appearances from Kate Winslet as former Macintosh marketing boss Joanna Hoffman, Katherine Waterston as Jobs' former girlfriend Chrisann Brennan and Michael Stuhlbarg who plays one of the original Mac developers. Jeff Daniels portrays former Apple CEO John Sculley. Three actresses will play Jobs' daughter Lisa in various ages.

The project was originally set in Sony Pictures Entertainment, but it was picked up by Universal after the company put it in turnaround. On Friday, January 30, the cast members were seen filming scenes in Cupertino, California.

In a photo, Fassbender can be seen wearing a black top and grey pants as he walks with Rogen, who sports full beard and '80s-styled clothing. Another photo sees the two stars having a chat with Boyle during the filming.
