Netflix Sets Premiere Date for 'Daredevil', Renews 'Marco Polo' for Season 2

Netflix also announces release dates for other new series, including 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt', 'Bloodline' and 'Grace and Frankie'.

AceShowbiz - Netflix made some important announcements at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour on Wednesday, January 7. The streaming giant revealed premiere dates for some new series, including one of its Marvel projects, "Daredevil", which is set to arrive on April 10.

"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt", a comedy from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, will bow on March 6. Kyle Chandler-starring drama "Bloodline" is due March 20, while sitcom "Grace and Frankie" which stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will be available for streaming starting May 8.

Also lined up by Netflix for this year are some kids' shows, including "The Adventures of Puss in Boots" which will premiere on January 16, "Ever After High: Spring Unsprung" due February 6 and "Mako Mermaids" which will be available on February 13.

Netflix additionally has renewed freshman "Marco Polo" for a 10-episode season 2. The drama, which debuted last December, centers on the title character (Lorenzo Richelmy), the famed 13th century explorer, who navigates Kublai Khan's world of greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry.

At the event, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos was also asked about "Wet Hot American Summer" sequel series that reportedly has been in the works at Netflix. "We're really excited about the proposition of getting that show together. Stay tuned," he coyly said.

As for the possibility of another season of "Arrested Development", Sarandos said, "Everyone is trying to make it happen."
