The 'Black Swan' actress, who previously was reported to have been in talks for an undisclosed major role, decides to pass on the pic.

AceShowbiz - Natalie Portman apparently is not going to star in the untitled Steve Jobs biopic developed at Universal after all. The "Black Swan" actress was previously reported to have been in negotiations to play a major character in the project, but on Monday, December 8 Variety reported that Portman decided to pass on the offer.

Production for the movie has faced several setbacks. Previously, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale who were eyed for the main role pulled out of the negotiations. Michael Fassbender reportedly was in talks for the role after the two stars' exits, but no official words were made regarding the report. Seth Rogen, meanwhile, reportedly was circling the role of Steve Wozniak.

In addition to the casting drama, the movie changed studio to Universal after the original studio Sony let it go. The untitled Steve Jobs biopic will be directed by Danny Boyle with the script by Aaron Sorkin. Sources said this week that the production was still on track despite the changes.

Portman next can be seen in "Jane Got a Gun". The Western flick was originally set to hit theaters early next year before taking a September 4 slot. In addition to the Jane Foster depicter in "Thor: The Dark World", the flick stars Ewan McGregor and Joel Edgerton.
