The Bon Jovi vocalist will portray a successful rocker who once ditched Berry's character but later he meets her again at a party.

AceShowbiz - Garry Marshall gives a different touch to his next project "New Year's Eve" by adding a rock star. Jon Bon Jovi has been tapped to star in the romantic comedy, joining the A-list cast which includes Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Jessica Biel, Zac Efron and Halle Berry.

The singer is likely to share most of his screen with Berry as The Hollywood Reporter says the Bon Jovi frontman will play a successful rock star who once dumped Berry's character of a caterer. The former couple now meets face to face again at a party.

Also recently added to the cast line up are Seth Meyers and German actor Til Schweiger. Meyers will portray a broke dad who wants his wife (Biel) to deliver the first baby of the year in order to win a $25,000 reward and finds himself in a heated competition. Meanwhile, detail of Schweiger's role has not been known yet.

"New Year's Eve" is scheduled to start production on February 1, 2011 in New York. Garry Marshall is on board to direct the film, which is slated to hit national theaters on December 9, 2011.

Jon Bon Jovi was last seen on big screen in 2006 "Pucked". Seth Meyers will co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, who is also cast in "New Year's Eve", in "I Don't Know How She Does It", while Til Schweiger landed role as Sergeant Stiglitz in "Inglourious Basterds".
