In the action-comedy "National Security," an explosive clash of egos and incompetence creates the most unlikely crime-fighting duo. Martin Lawrence stars as Earl Montgomery, a brash and overconfident police academy reject convinced he's the greatest lawman alive. His path fatefully collides with Hank Rafferty, played by Steve Zahn, a dedicated but perpetually unlucky LAPD officer. After a disastrous misunderstanding leads to Hank's dismissal from the force, the two men are forced into a reluctant partnership as lowly security guards. Their mutual animosity is put to the test when they stumble upon a sophisticated smuggling operation run by a ruthless criminal mastermind, played by Eric Roberts. Trading insults and dodging bullets in equal measure, this hilariously mismatched pair must navigate their own petty squabbles and sheer ineptitude to uncover a conspiracy that threatens far more than just their pride. Directed by Dennis Dugan, the film delivers a steady stream of slapstick chaos and sharp banter as Earl's wild theories and Hank's exasperated realism collide, proving that sometimes the worst partners make for the most unpredictable heroes.
