In the gritty, sun-drenched streets of New York City, Delirious follows Toby Grace, a homeless young man with a desperate dream of becoming a celebrity. His life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Les Galantine, a sleazy, small-time paparazzo played by Steve Buscemi, who is obsessed with capturing the perfect shot of famous faces. Les reluctantly takes Toby on as his assistant, and together they navigate the chaotic, morally ambiguous world of celebrity journalism. Toby, portrayed by Michael Pitt, is starstruck and naive, while Les is cynical and manipulative, creating a volatile dynamic fueled by ambition and desperation. Their journey spirals when Toby becomes entangled with a beautiful pop star, played by Alison Lohman, forcing both men to confront their own definitions of fame, loyalty, and identity. Directed by Tom DiCillo, this darkly comedic drama blends sharp satire with moments of poignant vulnerability, exploring the absurd lengths people go to for a taste of the spotlight. With a stellar supporting cast including Gina Gershon and Elvis Costello, Delirious is a witty and unsettling glimpse into the underbelly of celebrity culture.
