'2012' Crashes Into Los Angeles for Premiere
November 04, 2009 02:11:56Two weeks shy of its theatrical debut in the U.S., "2012 (2009)" went to downtown Los Angeles for its premiere. On Tuesday, November 3, black carpet was rolled out and a scene of destruction complete with a car crashing through a wall was built up in front of Regal Cinemas LA Live to greet the oncoming celebrities.
Many of the cast members were seen joining the festivity on the special evening. Amanda Peet, John Cusack, Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Oliver Platt and Danny Glover were only some of them spotted. Two of its young actors, Liam James and Morgan Lily who played Noah and Lilly Curtis, were present as well.
Five Minutes Clip From '2012'

On October 1, a five-minute footage from the global disaster movie is outed by Fancast.com, offering a look at how John Cusack's Jackson Curtis, his two kids, ex-wife Kate and Kate's new boyfriend escape death when massive earthquake tears down Los Angeles.
Opened with a scene wherein Curtis tells Kate he is picking her and the children up, the footage follows those five as they make their way to the airport amidst the chaos around them. Although they manage to get to the chartered plane on time, they are yet to cheat death. And, as they fly to safety, they see how the city of angels comes to its doom.
Fresh '2012' Images Focus on the Characters
July 23, 2009 02:07:46Columbia Pictures has released a series of new images for their upcoming post-apocalyptic sci-fi "2012 (2009)" through USA Today. Most of the fresh photos center on the fight of survival done by Jackson Curtis, his ex-wife Kate and their two young kids when the Earth is hit with global cataclysm.
One of the pictures exposes Jackson who is portrayed by John Cusack outrunning a fireball in his attempt to catch up with a speeding plane from which Amanda Peet's Kate holds out her hand. Another one sees Los Angeles caving in right after the small plane that carries Jackson and his family is airborne.
John Cusack's Vehicle Stopping Power Now Totally Shut Down

Tragic end has sadly befallen "Stopping Power", the $40-budgeted flick John Cusack is set to star in. Variety has obtained confirmation from the studio producing the project Internationalmedia that production on the action thriller finally gets canceled after it lost funding from one of the film's financial backers.
The company, however, declined to reveal which of the backers had pulled out, indicating that it would pursue legal recourse. Meanwhile, IM Stopping Power, a separate production subsidiary set up for the movie, has filed for insolvency as a result.

Stellar names keep flowing down for "Igor" despite its burgeoning list of cast lineup. Following recent inclusions of Jay Leno and Jennifer Coolidge, Exodus Film Group has smoothly had John Cusack and Sean Hayes onboard to lend their voices to its CG-animated feature.
Cusack reportedly will replace Christian Slater to voice the titular character, a hunch-backed assistant to a mad scientist named Dr. Glickenstein. Meanwhile Hayes is billed to fill the voice of Brian the Brain, a brain in a jar who is one of Igor's sidekicks and inventions.

Making an express move to extend their onscreen collaboration after that in the upcoming "Brand Hauser: Stuff Happens", John Cusack and Hilary Duff will both come together again in a big screen project entitled "Talking with Dog", Moviehole has revealed.
Described as a cross between "Mad Max" and "Blue Velvet", the project is set in a post apocalyptic future where man has suffered the wrath of global warning, and woman have suffered the inability to have children. Into this condition arrives a young man who is able to show that love, in a dying world, is still alive and that there is always hope, even over greed.

Heating up the current flow of high-profile projects to come on the big screen, Millennium Films has successfully signed big names of John Cusack, Hilary Duff, and Marisa Tomei to all star in "Brand Hauser: Stuff Happens", known previously as "War Inc.."
A dark political satire, pic revolves around an assassin, played by Cusack, who covers himself as an organizer of a big trade show that includes a wedding between a local pop star and a politicon in his effort to kill a Middle East oil minister. Production is slated to begin late this month in Bulgaria with Josh Seftel at helm.
