Jason Michael Lee, born on April 25, 1970, in Huntington Beach, California, is an American actor, filmmaker, photographer, and former professional skateboarder. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Earl J. Hickey in the critically acclaimed television comedy series My Name Is Earl, which aired from 2005 to 2009. Lee's performance in the show earned him nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy in both 2005 and 2006, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
Lee's journey began in the world of skateboarding, where he made a name for himself as a talented professional skateboarder. In 1992, he co-founded Stereo Skateboards with fellow skateboarder Chris "Dune" Pastras, a company known for its innovative skateboard decks, equipment, and apparel. This venture not only showcased his passion for skateboarding but also established him as a significant player in the skateboarding community.
Transitioning from skateboarding to acting, Lee made his film debut in Mallrats (1995), directed by Kevin Smith.
