AceShowbiz - King Charles III and Prince Harry will not have a reunion when the latter visits the U.K for Invictus Games. When some people expect the father and son duo to meet, it unfortunately won't happen because the British monarch is reportedly too busy.
A spokesman for the Duke of Sussex confirmed in a statement on Tuesday, May 7, noting that Charles can't meet his youngest son due to his "full programme." The statement said, "In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the U.K. this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty's full program."
"The duke of course is understanding of his father's diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon," the statement concluded.
Harry touched down in the U.K. on May 7 for a special tenth anniversary commemoration of his Invictus Games. The husband of Meghan Markle is scheduled to attend the thanksgiving service for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games Foundation in London on May 8.
He is expected to give a reading during the service, while "Homeland" actor Damian Lewis will recite a poem. On the other hand, the writer of the poem, William Henley, is commemorated with a memorial bust in the Crypt of the cathedral.
Harry's visit to Britain marks his first major event he will have attended in Britain for some time. The service is expected to be attended by representatives from across the Invictus Games participating nations, including members of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veteran community.
It's also the first time Harry returned to the U.K. following his quick trip to the country after King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis. "I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could," the 39-year-old told "Good Morning America" in February. "I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I'm grateful for that."
