In a new episode of 'Today with Hoda and Jenna', the 'Sex and the City' star reveals that she had to skip dinner at the event because she 'couldn't sit' down.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Jessica Parker has talked about her fun experience attending the 2024 Met Gala. On "Today with Hoda and Jenna", the actress portraying Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City" revealed the specific reason why she skipped dinner at the annual fundraising event.

In the Tuesday, May 7 episode of the TV program, the 59-year-old actress discussed the star-studded event that took place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City one day prior. Speaking to co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, she spilled that she could not sit down due to her structured gown.

Sarah's revelation left Hoda and Jenna shocked before the 59-year-old broadcast journalist and author bursted into laughter. Giggling, the "And Just Like That…" star reiterated, "I literally couldn't sit."

Jenna, who appeared curious about Sarah's experience at the gala, asked, "So you just went for the cocktail? And then you didn't stay for dinner?" Sarah then confirmed, "I didn't." She went on to explain that she had "an early morning" on the next day before adding, "I have things to do this morning."

Sharing the details about the Monday event, Sarah elaborated, "Once one enters, you are among - I consider the very privileged few - who get to see the exhibit early. And if I can just take a second and say that the exhibit this year at the costume institute, Andrew Bolton, who's the curator and has been for many years, it is the most unforgettable glorious exhibition I've ever seen."

"The costume, it's my favorite," she continued. "I mean he is incredible. And his entire staff, they are knowledgeable and inspired and wise and deeply curious about fabric, material, style, silhouettes, everything. But this particular exhibit I think is one of the greatest ever."

Sarah further recalled, "So what happens after you go in and manage to get up the steps is that you have a chance to see the exhibit. And I try to take my time. We are given slots to arrive and I was really grateful this year because it was quieter when I got there and there were very few people in the gallery."

Sarah made an appearance at the Met Gala in a long beige structured dress. The gown came with two long sleeves, white floral lace and sparkling embellishments all over it. She completed the look with an asymmetrical stylish matching hat, very long white pearl necklace, a pair of earrings and beige pointed-toe high heels.
