According to DJ Akademiks, 'there was supposed to be some new music' on Tuesday, May 7 before 'the plan of releasing got foiled' due to the shocking incident.

AceShowbiz - A new Drake-Kendrick Lamar diss track has been forced to be delayed following a shocking incident amid their feud. The song, which was slated to be released on Tuesday, May 7, failed to be launched on time due to a shooting at the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker's mansion.

That day, DJ Akademiks broke the news about the new Drizzy-K.Dot diss track during a live stream on Twitch. Speaking to rap fans, the disc jockey spilled, "There was supposed to be some new music today. I'm not saying from who nor am I gonna confirm from either party that we've really been interested in."

The DJ went on to explain, "The plan of releasing got foiled today after some really serious news came out. If you guys don't know, there was a shooting at Drake's house this morning. A shooting where his security guard was hit in the chest and was being called a drive-by."

A short clip from the livestream was later shared on Instagram. It prompted social media users to share their theories about the diss track and ongoing feud. In the comments section of the post, one in particular wrote, "Well TDE don't f**k wit you so you ain't talkin bout dem," making a reference to Kendrick's former record label Top Dawg Entertainment.

Meanwhile, another wrote, "We don't want to hear it nomore can u tell cuz that since u talk to him ! Respectfully." A third, on the other hand, suggested, "Cap...what more can Drake say? He said everything he could already...it's over...hold the L you'll be iight lol." A fourth, in the meantime, voiced a different opinion, "Dot was about to bury Drake with another diss and then Drizzlers crisis management team intervened with a fake crime scene."

The revelation came after a shooting occurred around 2 A.M. on Tuesday at Drake's Park Lane Circle residence. The rapper's security guard was found unconscious with a gunshot wound on his upper chest. As of Tuesday night, the security guard remains in serious condition following an immediate surgery.

Drake and Kendrick have been exchanging diss tracks since K.Dot shaded Drizzy on Future and Metro Boomin's "Like That" on March 22. In response, Drake dropped "Push Ups" and "Taylor Made Freestyle". Kendrick clapped back with "Euphoria" and "6:16 In LA" before his nemesis responded with "Family Matters".

The feud got worse when K.Dot fired back with "Meet the Grahams" and "Not Like Us", on which he labels Drizzy a "certified pedophile." Not letting his rival win, Drizzy shuts down the accusation on "The Heart Part 6".
