The lead vocalist of The 1975, who has been believed to have inspired the 'All Too Well' hitmaker's new track 'Fortnight', reveals that he really likes typewriters in a throwback clip.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift may have written "Fortnight" based on her romance with Matty Healy. A clue, which could prove that the newly-released song is about the lead vocalist of The 1975, has resurfaced online.

On Friday, April 19, the official TikTok account of GQ Magazine made use of the social media platform to upload a throwback video from their interview with Matty. In the resurfaced footage, the 35-year-old English singer/songwriter talked about his love of typewriters. While the caption of the video was left blank, a message over the clip read, "Matty Healy On Typewriters."

In the footage, Matty could be heard saying, "It's not that there's any kind of, like, romance to having a notebook, but I really like typewriters as well. I don't have one with me because that is really impractical."

On the reason why he likes typewriters, Matty explained, "And the thing is, with typewriters and writing on with pen to paper, there's a kind of an element of, like, commitment that goes with the ceremony of it. Therefore it requires you to concentrate a bit better. So I think it's important to have a book. So it's mainly like stories that I write about my dreams of being in love with other pop stars."

The video resurfaced after Taylor released her collaborative single with fellow artist Post Malone titled "Fortnight", which means "a period of two weeks." On the song, she talks about her short-lived romance with a guy.

Furthermore, Taylor used typewriters as some properties featured in the official music video of "Fortnight". In the dramatic footage, it could be seen that she and her collaborator were typing what appeared to be the song lyrics on manual typewriters.

Following the release of the collaborative single, many Swifties speculated that Taylor is talking about her 2023 fling with Matty on the track. One of them wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "So Fortnight is about Matty Healy. Taylor wtf." Another penned, "Not Fortnight sort of being about Matty Healy," adding sad face emojis.
