Cruel Summer is an upcoming American teen drama television series created by Bert V. Royal for Freeform. The series follows two young women who are kidnapped and held captive for over a year. When one of them is finally released, she must confront the trauma of her experience and the secrets that her captor has left behind. The series stars Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Michael Landes, and Froy Gutierrez. A teaser trailer for the series was released on May 15, 2021, and the series is set to premiere on June 22, 2021.
