Doctor Sleep is an upcoming American horror film based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Stephen King, which is a sequel to King's 1977 novel The Shining. The film is directed and produced by Mike Flanagan, from a screenplay by Flanagan and Akiva Goldsman. It stars Ewan McGregor as Danny Torrance, a grown-up version of the boy with psychic abilities from The Shining. The film follows Danny as he struggles with alcoholism and PTSD, and his attempts to help a young girl named Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran), who has similar powers to his own. Doctor Sleep is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 8, 2019, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
