Alita: Battle Angel is an upcoming American cyberpunk action film based on the 1990 manga series Gunnm by Yukito Kishiro. The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez and written by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis. It stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, and Jackie Earle Haley. The film follows Alita (Salazar), a cyborg who is rescued from a scrapyard and becomes a bounty hunter. The film is scheduled to be released on February 14, 2019.
