Welcome to Marwen is a 2018 American biographical drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Zemeckis and Caroline Thompson. The film stars Steve Carell, Leslie Mann, Diane Kruger, Merritt Wever, Janelle Monáe, and Gwendoline Christie. It is based on the 2010 documentary Marwencol, which tells the story of Mark Hogancamp, a man who creates a miniature World War II-era town as a way to cope with the aftermath of a brutal assault. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2018, and was released in the United States on November 21, 2018, by Universal Pictures.
