The Chi is an American drama television series that premiered on Showtime on January 7, 2018. The series was created by Lena Waithe and stars Jason Mitchell, Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Armando Riesco, and Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine. The series follows the lives of four teenagers who live on the South Side of Chicago. In the preview for episode 1.07, "The Tap," Kevin (Mitchell) and Brandon (Latimore) try to figure out how to pay for Kevin's mom's funeral. Emmett (Hibbert) and Trig (Mwine) get into a fight, and Ronnie (Ross) tries to help Emmett cope with his anger.
