The Stanford Prison Experiment is a 2015 American thriller drama film directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez and written by Tim Talbott. Based on the 1971 Stanford prison experiment, the film stars Billy Crudup, Michael Angarano, and Ezra Miller. The film follows the events of the experiment, in which a group of college students is randomly assigned to play the roles of guards and prisoners in a simulated prison. The experiment quickly spirals out of control, as the guards become increasingly sadistic and the prisoners become increasingly dehumanized.
