"Cruel Summer" is an upcoming American teen drama television series that is a creation of Bert V. Royal. The show is set in a small town in the 1990s where two popular teenage girls, Kate and Jeanette, are best friends. When Kate goes missing, Jeanette is accused of being involved in her disappearance. The series follows the aftermath of Kate's disappearance and the investigation into Jeanette's involvement. The series stars Olivia Holt as Kate, Chiara Aurelia as Jeanette, and Froy Gutierrez as Jamie. The first season of the series is set to premiere on Freeform on April 20, 2021.
