Undateable Episode 2.07/08 A Live Show Walks Into a Bar Part 1/Part2

Justin holds an open mic night at the bar, which would make the bar cool, except Justin immediately ruins it. He has no idea that Ed Sheeran is one of the performers and kicks him off the stage for violating the one-song rule. Ed, who's in town for the Spirit of Detroit Music Festival, then tweets out, "If you see this rude bar owner, give him a smack from me," which leads to nearly every person who stops by the bar hitting Justin in the head.

Nicki's getting married this weekend, and Justin's pretty bummed out, so Danny tries to cheer him up by watching Scandal. Only, Danny flips out upon learning that Justin thinks Scott Foley is better looking than him. A super-hot girl (Victoria Justice) at the next table overhears his tantrum and thinks the best friends' banter is hilarious. This prompts the two idiots to try to one up each other for the lovely Amanda's affections. Amanda's a backup singer in town for the musical festival, so of course, Justin immediately starts singing. When Amanda leaves, Danny announces he's going to bow out of the competition so Justin has a chance with her. This infuriates Justin, leading to a face-off between the roommates. If Amanda picks Justin, Danny has to wax his chest, and if she picks anyone else, Justin has to wax his chest.. live.

Meanwhile, Brett complains that people from Detroit are horrible tippers, but Leslie kindly reminds him that he's not exactly the nicest bartender. At a table nearby, Shelly's retirement home coworkers Zach (Zach Braff) and Donald (Donald Faison) agree with Leslie - Brett was a bitch to them, too! So nice-guy Shelly challenges the snarky Brit to see who can earn the most tips by the end of the night. Shelly, being the adorable teddy bear that he is, quickly fills up his bucket with tips from pretty ladies (Christa Miller and Minnie Driver - Version 1; Christa Miller and Kate Walsh Version 2) while Brett's is totally empty. Dr. Drew, who's been sitting at the bar, notices and tells Shelly he's worried about Brett, prompting Shelly to give his bucket money to Dr. Drew to give to Brett. Dr. Drew pockets most of it, but throws a 50 at Brett, making him the winner!

Upstairs, Candace is hiding a big secret: her ex-boyfriend Trent! When Leslie and Burski spot him they're livid - Trent's an absolute jackass who treated Candace terribly. Candace swears he just needed a place to crash and they're not getting back together. Leslie and her new boyfriend Mike (Mike Catherwood) explain that Candace is just backsliding, but that'll all change the second she meets someone who makes her forget about him.

Downstairs, Justin preps for Amanda's return by trying out pick-up lines on Candace. Only, she inadvertently gets sucked in by his charm and Leslie realizes Candace is definitely not thinking about Trent anymore... But when Amanda comes back, Justin comes on a bit too strong, while Danny's smooth moves win him a movie date. Burski tells Danny that he should do what Shelly did - let his best friend win because it means more to him. Danny reluctantly agrees and decides to coach Justin into beating him. He suggests picking on his insecurities and then brings out the big guns: TV's Scott Foley! Scott gives Justin a pep talk, slaps him for Ed Sheeran and then convinces Danny to drive him to the airport just by using the power of his intoxicating green eyes.

When Amanda stops by for her date with Danny, Justin tries out Danny's aggressive approach but quickly realizes he's not being himself. He apologizes to Amanda and spills that he's just a guy looking for a serious relationship. Unfortunately, Amanda's not looking for anything serious, and while Danny was at the airport with TV's Scott Foley, she made other plans. Looks like nobody won, so Justin doesn't have to wax his chest. But Danny clarifies that the bet was if Amanda ended up with anyone else... and she ditched Danny for Trent! Sorry Justin, that wax job looks painful!
