Walden has difficulty sharing the news of his breakup and reacts badly to his mother and Billy's inquiries about Zoey. Alan encourages Walden to express his hurt and pain, but he resists and isolates himself in his bedroom instead. Alan stages a group intervention for Walden when he sees a shrine to Zoey in his bathroom. Walden is appreciative of how much his friends care and is able to finally break down in front of Alan. Walden hopes that buying a dog will alleviate his misery, but the dog proves to be a nightmare of a pet. As revenge against Zoey, Walden gives the dog to her daughter Ava as a birthday present.
