The Office Episode 9.11 Suit Warehouse

David Wallace sends Dwight a message that Stone and Son Suit Warehouse has let its contract with a rival paper company expire. Dwight knows that family businesses are easy prey with the right sales approach; he and Jim have teamed up successfully before in the guise of two brothers. He calls Jim for help with the new account, but his former partner is too busy with his new job in Philadelphia.

Darryl's dressed for success for his job interview with Jim's new firm in Philadelphia. Looking for a little moral support, he convinces Pam to leave the office for the day to join him. She rejects the idea at first but after realizing there's really no one in charge, decides to come along. She delegates her only chore for the day, receiving a shipment of pens, to Erin.

Clark returns to the office after his field assignment of accompanying Jan Levenson on a romantic vacation. He's a bit worn out by it all but he's determined to do whatever it takes to become part of the sales team. Dwight, needing a wingman for his upcoming call on Stone and Son, enlists Clark to play the part of his son.

In appreciation for the great customer service from Clark, Jan has sent the office a gift: an instant espresso machine. The gang isn't quite sure what they're getting into, but they all want to try out the many flavors. In no time they're bouncing off the walls, high on caffeine. Meanwhile, Erin's extra excited: the shipment of pens arrives.

Dwight and Clark pay their call on the senior Mr. Stone. Dwight immediately looks for connections with his potential new customer and Clark does everything he can to play along. When Stone tells Dwight how he's constantly at odds with his son, Dwight turns hostile toward Clark. Clark's confused but rolls with the punches.

Pam and Darryl arrive in Philly for Darryl's big interview. Jim greets them and shows them around. Darryl's very nervous and wants to leave, but Pam encourages him to calm down and just do his best. Jim takes him in to meet the rest of the team. Visibly uncomfortable, Darryl stands to leave, explaining he's not right for the job. But Jim's co-workers are very understanding. They tell him they've all came from jobs completely unrelated to what they're doing now. That breaks the ice and soon Darryl is successfully sharing his thoughts on the new company.

Back in the office, the staff is moving at warp speed, thanks to sampling all of the espresso. The productivity in the office skyrockets; they even decide to move the copier out of the bullpen, exposing hardwood floors underneath the dull gray carpet. Soon enough they're trying to tear the carpet up to expose the wood. But the crash isn't far behind; soon they're all sweating and irritable. The coffee capsules for the new machine have run out, turning everyone belligerent. The coffee jones strikes them all and they're at each other's throats.

Darryl's ideas are well received by Jim's colleagues and soon they're laughing like old friends. They invite him to try shooting a basket at the hoop they have right inside the conference room. But Darryl's shot rebounds out and crashes into a lamp, which in turn falls into a large aquarium. Electrocuted fish soon float to the top. The interview isn't turning out so well after all.

After Dwight has bonded with Mr. Stone about their worthless sons, Mr. Stone's son finally shows up. As it turns out, he's the one who actually runs the company. Clark, sensing the disaster, steps up and begins bonding with the younger Stone. They start talking suits and soon enough, Dwight's in a new suit and there's a deal for Dunder Mifflin to be Stone and Son's new paper supplier.

Pam and a deflated Darryl return to the office and survey the wreckage. Erin explains that this is what happens when someone leaves her in charge of a pen delivery. The cranky team has bolted for the day. But the good news for Daryl is that Jim checked with his partners and though they're going to need Darryl to pay for the dead fish, they want Darryl to join the team. Darryl's thrilled.
