Agent Garrett is in flight. His jet takes fire from a pair of attacking drones. Evasive maneuvers are successful for the moment. Garrett sees that one of the drones has a S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on its side. On the bus, Agent May explains that the encrypted phone line she's been using is a direct connection to Director Fury. Coulson keeps his gun drawn on her while ordering Skye to figure out where their plane is headed. He wants Fitz to tell him who Simmons is in cahoots with back at the Hub. She could be in serious danger if it isn't someone they trust.

BANG! Coulson shoots May with an icer. She's knocked unconscious. Fitz manually wires the guns on the bus to override the system as Garrett's jet arrives. Coulson is able to blow the pursuing drones out of the sky. Garrett boards the bus. Back at the Hub, Agent Victoria Hand says they'll deal with him when they all land. She warns all those in her charge that if their loyalty wavers, they will die. Back on the bus, Coulson reveals that he believes that Agent Victoria Hand is the Clairvoyant. Skye cracks a code that shows they are up against the powerful subversive organization known as Hydra.

Hydra was supposed to have been eliminated after World War II, but they always come back. The terrorist group is sending a signal to its members within S.H.I.E.L.D. The bus is headed straight for the Hub where Hydra may be waiting for them. Coulson and Garrett know the odds are against them. They'll need every possible asset. They'll need Ward and May.

At the Hub, Simmons tries to hide her research from a curious Agent Triplett. She eventually reveals that she's been uploading Skye's blood scans. Triplett's Level 6 clearance gives him access allow her to contact Agent Weaver at S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy, who reveals that they are under siege. Hydra is inside S.H.I.E.L.D. No one can be trusted. As short time later, agents storm the lab. Simmons and Triplett are captured.

On the bus, May makes a call on her secure line to hear that Director Fury is dead. She says she was to keep Fury updated on how Coulson was holding together. She is the one who actually assembled their team. Everything she did was to protect him. May assures Coulson that she is not part of Hydra. Elsewhere, Skye backs up the bus database before wiping it clean.

BOOM! The cargo door is blasted open. Gunmen enter the bus. Thankfully, none of them touch Lola. BOOM! Another blast takes out the first troops as the team makes its way into the HUB. They're on the hunt for Simmons and Triplett, who are brought before Hand. They are told to swear loyalty to Hydra or die. Triplett chooses the latter. That's the right answer. Agent Hand is not the Clairvoyant. She's an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. She now has upped the small number of people she trusts to include Triplett and Simmons. Agent Hand claims Agent Coulson is the real traitor.

Ward is feeling the guilt of killing an innocent man. He wants to take things to the next level with Skye if they survive. She agrees to have a drink with him when they make it out of this mess. She gives him a kiss before he heads into a possible suicide mission. Ward is able to neutralize a dozen men initially, but the bad guys ultimately get the upper hand. They beat and pummel Ward. Skye fears the worst until her fellow agent appears before her. Time to get to work.

Garrett wants to kill Agent Hand, no questions asked. He details his reasons in a rant that reveals his true mission to Coulson. Agent Garrett is part of Hydra. He knows that Agent Sitwell was in charge of at least a few of the soldiers who storm the area. He orders them to take action. BANG! BANG! BANG! The sleeper Hydra agents kill the real S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in the room. Agent John Garrett is the Clairvoyant. He gives the order to shoot all those who do not swear allegiance to Hydra. That would be everyone on Coulson's team.

Skye and Ward blow the power. This gives Coulson, May and Fitz the opportunity they need to fight back against their captors. An epic battle takes place. The threat is neutralized. Real S.H.I.E.L.D. agents storm the room. They heard Garrett confess to his crimes via transmitter. Coulson asks Hand how deep all this goes. It's a global crisis even after Captain America's takedown of the carriers that Hydra planned to unleash on the world.

Agent Hand says she and Coulson may be the highest-ranking non-Hydra S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who aren't dead. She agrees to let Ward accompany her as they transfer Garrett to his cell. As for Coulson, he no longer looks at May as a friend. Still, she is an ally. The team needs her as it takes action to survive. Up on Garrett's plane, Agent Hand gives Ward a free pass to shoot the real Clairvoyant. She wants Garrett dead. Ward draws his gun. BANG! BANG! Ward shoots the two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents guarding Garrett. Then he shoots Agent Hand. Garrett smiles as Ward gives him a knowing nod that seems to give the unspoken message of "Hail Hydra."
