The family of Shifty Shellshock, the late frontman of Crazy Town, remembers the beloved singer and acknowledges his struggles with addiction in a statement issued a few days after the singer's death.

AceShowbiz - In an emotional statement, the family of Shifty Shellshock (real name Seth Binzer) has shared their memories of the late singer, who passed away on June 24 at the age of 49 from an accidental drug overdose.

The statement, obtained by The Sun, highlights Shellshock's love for art in all its forms and his unwavering dedication to his music and fans. However, the family also acknowledges his struggles with addiction, which were particularly challenging due to the public platform he held.

"Seth struggled with addiction throughout his life, he did so on a very public platform which was particularly challenging," the statement reads. "God knows he tried so hard to beat his demons but sadly he lost his battle."

The family remembers Shellshock as a "troubled soul" but one with "a heart of gold." They express their heartbreak over his loss and emphasize the positive impact he had on many lives.

Shellshock's passion for music began in 1992, when he formed Crazy Town with Bret Mazur a.k.a. Epic. After several lineup changes, the band released their debut album "The Gift of Game" in 1999, featuring their hit single "Butterfly". Crazy Town disbanded in 2003.

Shellshock's family concludes the statement by honoring his legacy through his three sons, Halo, Gage and Phoenix. They describe these young men as Shellshock's "proudest accomplishments."

Crazy Town's manager Howie Hubberman has confirmed that Shellshock died as a result of a combination of prescription and street-purchased drugs. Hubberman expressed his admiration for Shellshock's musical talent and lamented the difficulties he faced in overcoming his addiction.
