AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake has returned to New York City with a driver following his DWI arrest. The singer/actor let someone take the wheel to take him back to NYC following his release from police custody on Tuesday morning, June 18.
According to Page Six, the 43-year-old star got on the road after meeting with his lawyer. It's unclear if he has reunited with his wife Jessica Biel in NYC, but the actress has been filming Prime Video's upcoming thriller series "The Better Sister" in Big Apple.
Justin was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, NY early Tuesday morning. He was pulled over after failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to stay in his lane when driving his BMW on Madison Street at 12:37 A.M. He had been with friends at the American Hotel on Main Street before he drove off around 12:30 A.M.
The Grammy winner reportedly failed a field sobriety test, demonstrated bloodshot and glassy eyes, and exhibited slurred speech and an inability to divide attention. Sources noted that the "SexyBack" singer refused to take a breathalyzer test, leading to a suspension of his driving privileges in New York state for a year.
Justin was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two other traffic violations. He was released on Tuesday morning without a bail. His next court appearance is scheduled to be held virtually on Friday, July 26.
On Wednesday, his lawyer spoke up on his arrest. Edward Burke Jr., a prominent attorney in the Hamptons, said in a statement, "Mr Burke looks forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery from the DA's office."
Meanwhile, Jessica is reportedly "not happy" about her husband's arrest, but remains "very focused on filming" despite looking "tired." A source mentioned, "The cast and crew have nothing but positive things to say about her."
