AceShowbiz - Kate Beckinsale won't let anyone be her fashion police. Having been ridiculed over her "ridiculous" big bows, the "Underworld" star set aside time to give her savage responses to the haters.
The 50-year-old was forced to deal with online trolls after sharing a series of videos on Instagram. In the clips, she could be seen making fresh mozzarella and singing karaoke with a group of friends while wearing an all-black ensemble consisting of a vest, short shorts, tights, platform combat boots as well as a huge bow atop her head.
In the comment section of the carousel shared on Monday, 17 June, one person wrote, "Please take that ridiculous bow off." Catching wind of the negative remark, Kate declared, "As I said before, take that expression off your bitter a** face. Unless you can't. In which case, condolences."
Another critic, meanwhile, commented, "I am a happy person, and I still think the head dressing is a very poor choice." It prompted Kate to fire back, "You can't be that happy if you have any time or inclination to actually type concerns about what someone you don't know is wearing or not."
The criticism didn't stop there though. A different individual noted that the oversized bow made Kate look like "a toddler in a pageant." Instead of feeling insulted, she retorted, "Lucky old me."
Kate is no stranger to clapping back at online haters. In May, she got body-shamed after posting a video from behind the scenes of her forthcoming 1990s-based film "Stolen Girl". In the footage, the English native rocked a slew of retro-styled fits and hairstyles while goofing around in her trailer.
While Kate looked excited and ready to be back to work and film her new movie, some naysayers chose to focus on her physical appearance. "Sorry to say this Kate, but you do look a bit thin," one person wrote. "You always striked a great balance ... But when your cheekbones start to show, the balance is lost ..."
Noticing the negative comment, Kate quickly hit back by saying, "I nursed my [stepdad] to his death early this year. My mum also has stuff going on. I am adjusting to watching two fathers die, one when I was 5, one in January of this year."
"I lost my soulmate cat of almost 19 years, also last year," she continued, before detailing her recent health issues, "I spent six weeks in hospital due to copiously vomiting blood from a [Mallory-Weiss tear] caused by the stress of a whole year ripping a hole between my [esophagus] and stomach."
