AceShowbiz - Ryan Sutter seemingly regretted making cryptic posts about his wife Trista Sutter during her brief disappearance. In a new interview, "The Bachelorette" winner admitted that his eyebrow-raising posts "blew up in his face."

"I'll go months without a post and then suddenly, I'll get in a mood and I'll send something," the 49-year-old explained in the Monday, June 17 episode of "The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever with Chris Harrison". He added, "There was a particular thing that Trista was doing, and it was the end of the school year. It's been a long year for us-moving and lots of things going on. The culmination of all that happened and I was in that sort of place."

Ryan went on to reveal that it was meant to be a sweet note to his wife of 20 years. "Honestly, the intent was that Trista wasn't going to be able to have access to social media until she got finished with this experience she was on," he explained.

"So, I was gonna post these things knowing like the second she had access to it, she would look at it and she could see, 'Here's what happened while you were gone, here's how much we missed you, here's how important you are to us,' " the firefighter continued. "And it just blew up in my face and backfired."

Ryan emphasized that he mostly keeps his personal life out of the Internet. He additionally elaborate, "My take on social media is twofold. I mostly only use Instagram because I like pictures and I love looking back on my life and reflecting on my kids when they were younger. And the writing portion of it reminds me of the emotional state I was in at those particular times."

Ryan sparked a buzz with a suggestive Mother's Day post in May, disclosing that Trista was away from him and their children. Further fueling the chatter, he posted on May 18, "Trista is fine. We are fine. We're great," adding that she is "searching a bit" and took an opportunity for personal growth, which explains her absence.

Trista, for her part, lightheartedly addressed the speculation upon her return to social media. "Geez people. Can't a girl have a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace around here?! " she joked.

Clarifying her situation, she wrote, "In all seriousness, for those concerned, I'm safe and sound, happy and healthy, in love and grateful." She praised Ryan's public expressions of love, which helped her through a period of self-doubt. The spouses reunited later that month.
