Aside from demanding the judge's removal from the case, Brian Steel asked a mistrial to be declared over alleged misconduct during a private meeting by the judge related to Kenneth Copeland's testimony.

AceShowbiz - Young Thug's lawyer's attempt to remove Fulton County Superior Court Judge Ural Glanville from the YSL RICO case came to no avail. Brian Steel reportedly filed a motion to disqualify the judge, but his request has been denied.

Steel filed his motion on Monday, June 17. However, according to a report from WRDW, Glanville himself denied the motion on Tuesday.

Aside from demanding Glanville's removal, Steel asked a mistrial to be declared over alleged misconduct during a private meeting by the judge related to alleged Young Thug associate Kenneth Copeland's testimony.

Just one week prior, Steel was taken into custody and sentenced to 20 days in the Fulton County Jail. He was held in contempt after he accused the judge and prosecutors of an improper meeting with Kenneth.

"If that's true, what this is is coercion," the attorney said. "[As well as] witness intimidation, ex parte communications that we have a constitutional right to be present for."

Steel cited an inside source, whose name wasn't revealed despite the judge's demands. He went on to note that an answer would violate attorney-client protections and "work product" privilege.

It prompted the judge to give Brian an ultimatum. "I'm going to give you five minutes," he asserted. "If you don't tell me who it is, I'm going to put you in contempt."

In response, the attorney stressed, "I don't need five minutes." The lawyer was allowed to carry out the rest of his case but was taken into custody right after. He, however, remains free while his contempt of court charge is being appealed, and is being allowed to remain as counsel in the courtroom.
