The 79-year-old actor hopes the network is coming to its senses as he is not ready to say goodbye to 'Blue Bloods' after starring on the series for 14 seasons.

AceShowbiz - Tom Selleck, the 79-year-old star of 'Blue Bloods', expresses his disappointment over CBS' decision to cancel the long-running police procedural after its 14th season. The network announced the show's conclusion in November 2023, but Selleck remains optimistic.

"I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses," Selleck told CBS News in a recent interview. "We're the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We're winning the night. All the cast wants to come back."

Selleck believes the show is still performing well and has a loyal fan base. "We're doing good shows and still holding our place," he added.

Other cast members have also expressed their sadness over the cancellation. [ Bridget Moynahan and Donnie Wahlberg said they felt "more upset and sad" than "happy and satiated" following an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show".

Despite the cast's disappointment, the decision to end the show comes after a 25% pay cut agreement by the cast and producing team to enable production costs.

The season 14 mid-season finale of "Blue Bloods" airs May 17 on CBS and Paramount+. The second half of the season, consisting of eight episodes, will debut in fall 2024.
