DJ Akademiks relays a message from the Canadian superstar after a shooting occurred at the rapper's Park Lane Circle residence on early Tuesday morning, May 7 amid his beef with Kendrick Lamar.

AceShowbiz - Drake was unharmed despite recent shooting at his Toronto mansion. The rapper, through DJ Akademiks, has assured everyone that he is fine following the incident that occurred on early Tuesday morning, May 7.

DJ Akademiks claimed he has spoken to Drake following the shooting. "I'll tell you this," he announced to viewers during a livestream on Tuesday. "I have spoken with Drake, and he's okay. You know, he said he's good. Nothing more than that, nothing less."

"Obviously, you know, there's someone who's probably still battling for their life, and got shot at his house," he added about Drake's security guard who was shot in the incident. "But if you're wondering [about] Drake himself, he's fine and I think that's short and sweet."

The shooting occurred around 2 A.M. on Tuesday at Drake's Park Lane Circle residence. According to DJ Akademiks, it's the same house used by Kendrick Lamar on his latest song's cover art amid the two rappers' beef. Police have described the event as a drive-by. In a news release, authorities said they believe the man "was shot from a vehicle which then fled the scene."

Inspector Paul Krawczyk said at a news conference, "That person was working apparently as a security guard at the residence. He was standing outside the gates in front of the residence when the shooting occurred."

The security guard was found unconscious with gunshot wound to the upper chest. He was rushed to nearby Sunnybrook Hospital and immediately underwent surgery. As of Tuesday night, the security guard remains in serious condition.

Police still have not determined how many suspects involved or what kind of car they were in, but Paul noted that the shooting was captured on video. He added that police have been speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area for additional video.

A motive in the shooting remains unclear "because it's so early" in the investigation, said the police inspector. Detectives have been in communication with Drake's team. They also asked public with information of the incident to contact the police department.
