The former 'Counting On' star and her husband have social media users come to their defense after receiving unpleasant comments following the April 19 funeral.

AceShowbiz - Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard have had social media users come to their defense. The former "Counting On" star and her husband received supportive messages from many after getting unpleasant comments following their stillborn daughter's funeral.

On Tuesday, April 23, the 32-year-old former reality TV star and her husband made use of their Instagram accounts to upload a series of photos from the funeral. One of the pictures in their joint post captured a printed paper featuring a message that read, "Forever in our hearts. Isla Marie Dillard. 'Planted on earth to bloom in Heaven.' "

Along with the snaps, Jill and Derick wrote in the caption of the post, "Isla Marie, our baby girl. We will love you forever & hold you in our hearts until we hold you in heaven. Laid to rest 4.19.2024. #stillbirth #dillardbabygirl #islamarie #lovedforever."

After sharing the photos, the wedded couple got a number of unpleasant online responses from Instagram users. One critic wrote, "Who posts these things." Another penned, "Is so strange your family has so many miscarriages."

Though so, Jill and Derick were quickly defended by other users. One in particular said, "These comments are just awful, does it really matter how many weeks, whether it was a miscarriage or a stillborn, it is the tragic loss of a tiny much loved and wanted baby girl. I'm appalled at some of these comments. My heart goes out to Jill and Derek on their loss."

Another praised, "This is so special. I'm so so glad y'all took the time to honor her sweet life. Never stop finding ways to honor her and say your name, it helps so much with the grieving processes," adding a red heart emoji.

The funeral was held a few days after the pair announced the heartbreaking news about their stillborn daughter. On the same social media platform, they shared on April 13, "It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard. Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero."
