In a heartfelt tribute, the 'Transformers' actor honors the legacy of his stepfather, George Kemper, and reflects on family, parenting and positivity amidst loss.

AceShowbiz - Following a memorial service for his late stepfather, George Kemper, 51-year-old actor Josh Duhamel shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. He praised Kemper for his unwavering support and the "incredible" life he gave him and his family.

Duhamel's parents divorced when he was young, and he spent his childhood with his mother and sisters. Kemper became a pivotal figure in his life, pulling his family "from the wrong side of the tracks into a life with possibility." He also welcomed two other daughters, McKenzee and Kassidy, into the family.

In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Duhamel discussed how his own family's divorce history influenced his amicable co-parenting relationship with his ex-wife, Stacy Ferguson a.k.a. Fergie. "We both had good examples of what not to do," he said. "We wanted to create an easy place for Axl that isn't awkward or uncomfortable."

Duhamel and Fergie, who share 10-year-old son Axl, divorced in 2019. Duhamel has since married Audra Mari, and they welcomed their first child together, son Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel, in January 2023.

In a previous interview with ET, Duhamel expressed his excitement about becoming a new dad again. "I'm very excited about it, I really am," he said. "And so is she, so is my son. We're very lucky and all we can hope for is a healthy baby."
