AceShowbiz - Littered with subtle jabs at her exes and nods to fellow stars, Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department", has sparked discussions and reactions among fan and fellow celebrities alike.
After listening to the album with his daughters, actor Josh Gad teased, "Is there any man on planet Earth right now whose phone is blowing up more than Charlie Puth right now?" as he referred to the title track.
Stamos replied, suggesting that the reactions to Kim Kardashian diss track could easily beat that. Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology" features 31 songs, including the bonus track "thanK you aIMee," which spells out Kardashian's first name.
While the album's literary references have been less prominent than expected, there are still plenty of name-drops. Swift sings, "All that time you were throwin' punches, I was buildin' somethin' " and "Screamed 'F**k you, Aimee' to the night sky as the blood was gushin' / But I can't forget the way you made me heal."
Swift and Kardashian's relationship has been rocky since 2009 when Kanye West interrupted Swift's MTV VMAs speech. West later referenced Swift in his song "Famous," claiming that she approved the lyrics. Swift denied this, and Kardashian released an edited version of a phone conversation between West and Swift, further fueling the feud.
However, tensions appear to have eased in recent years. Kardashian has expressed appreciation for Swift's music, and Swift's "thanK you aIMee" seems to reflect on their ups and downs. She sings, "And maybe you've reframed it / And in your mind, you never beat my spirit black and blue" and "I don't think you've changed much / And so I changed your name and any real defining clues."
