The 81-year-old Beach Boys legend struggles to remember the names of his family members amid his battle with dementia and family's bid to seek conservatorship.

AceShowbiz - The Beach Boys icon Brian Wilson's family is requesting a court-ordered conservatorship due to his worsening dementia, according to exclusive court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com.

Wilson, currently diagnosed with dementia, met with a court-appointed lawyer who reported that although Wilson was coherent regarding personal information (e.g., name, date, time), he couldn't recall the names of his children beyond the two living with him.

Despite his confusion about the need for conservators, Wilson acknowledged his family and managers' long-standing support and expressed trust in their ability to act in his best interests. Wilson also stated his willingness to continue voting.

The lawyer recommended approving the conservatorship and noted that LeeAnn Hard, Wilson's longtime manager, has been nominated with the family's consent. The family emphasized their desire to maintain the current household arrangements, ensuring Wilson's well-being and continued participation in activities he enjoys.

A court hearing on the petition is scheduled for later this month.
