The 'Pirates of the Carribean' actor shares the unwavering support he receives from his fiancee as he embarks on extreme sports and activities for his new series, 'Orlando Bloom: To the Edge.'

AceShowbiz - Orlando Bloom, the 47-year-old star of "Lord of the Rings" and "Pirates of the Caribbean," has expressed his immense gratitude for the unwavering support he receives from his fiancee, Katy Perry.

As Bloom ventures into extreme sports and activities for his new series, including deep sea diving, free rock climbing, and skydiving, he has had Perry standing by his side throughout. "We're both cheerleaders for each other," Bloom shared with ET's Nischelle Turner. "She definitely pushes me to be the best version of myself."

Despite some of the more risky challenges Bloom took on, such as wingsuiting and free diving, Perry may not have fully grasped the extent of his endeavors. "I think, in some way, she maybe didn't fully grasp quite what extreme I was going to," Bloom said with a laugh.

Bloom and Perry, who began dating in 2016, have a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. Bloom also has a 12-year-old son, Flynn, with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr. The actor stated that his children motivated him to challenge himself both physically and mentally through the show.

"Daisy's only three and a half, but she did see some clips of me and she was like, 'Daddy's flying,' " Bloom shared. "And she used to say, 'Daddy's an airplane,' you know it was like, 'Daddy fly!' "

In the show, Bloom puts his physical and mental capabilities to the test through a series of daunting stunts. Despite the challenges, he has emerged mostly unscathed thanks to the guidance of experts. Besides being a role model for his children, Bloom was inspired to film the show to step outside his comfort zone and push his limits.

"I think we all have fears in life, we all have the edge of what is comfortable," Bloom said. "For me, it happened to be, you know, some kind of mad, extreme sort of sports."

While viewers may see Bloom looking composed on the show, he admitted to experiencing "mental explosions" throughout the challenging activities.
