AceShowbiz - Paris Hilton has garnered mixed responses to her controversial social media post. The former star of "The Simple Life" enraged social media users for attempting to make low-rise jeans hype again.
On Saturday, March 16, the 43-year-old hotel heiress received various comments via Instagram after she suggested that the particular design of denim pants should become a trend again. In the comments section of her new post, many Instagram users declared that they do not want to wear the low-rise pants again.
One in particular wrote, "No tf they shouldn't! This is why my entire generation has body image issues! These need to stay in the past!" Meanwhile, another claimed, "This is exactly why I had an eating disorder in high school. The standards were ridiculous."
A third pointed out, "I will never forgive the early 2000's for low rise jeans and the damage they did to my body image. Never bring these back." Similarly, a fourth stated, "No thanks they aren't flattering and the only people who actually wear them and look good are thin people."
While many users disagreed with Paris' suggestion, one user supported the reality TV star's view. They penned, "As a fellow petite gal, yes plz!!! Because high waisted never looks good on me and makes me look bigger than I am. I loved much of 90s fashion, and I show skin often because I live in a hot climate. Bring them back, if not for us smol body types! Petite may be a minority now, our voices not as numerous or loud, but we still matter too!!"
The comments came one day after Paris made use of Instagram to upload a series of throwback photos. In the snaps, which she released on Friday, March 15, it could be seen that she was showing off her flat abs in various low-rise pants.
One of the pictures, which she captioned, "Hot Take. Low rise jeans should make a comeback," saw the sister of Nicky Hilton sporting a daring pink top that came with crossover straps on the wearer's tummy. She also donned a pair of long blue denim pants, which had a low-waisted design and colorful embroideries on its upper part.
