The 'Mean Girls' star wakes up as the bride-to-be at the wedding of her best friend and her dream husband, only to realize that her real soulmate is someone else entirely.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan regrets her wish in the first trailer for Netflix's upcoming movie "Irish Wish". The sneak-peek video, made available for viewing pleasure on Tuesday, February 20, sees the former child star playing Maddie, who travels to Ireland to attend the wedding of her best friend Emma Taylor (Elizabeth Tan) and her dream husband Paul Kennedy (Alexander Vlahos).

On her way to the wedding venue, Maddie meets a photographer, James Thomas (Ed Speleers), who is apparently hired by the engaged couple for the wedding. During a phone call with her mother, Maddie expresses her regret that he never told Paul her feelings for him.

In an unexpected turn of events, Maddie wakes up as the bride-to-be after making a wish to be marrying Paul. Things get complicated as Maddie grows closer to James. As she lives the life which is not her own, Maddie begins to question if this what she really wants.

Netflix's description of the movie reads, "When the love of her life gets engaged to her best friend, Maddie (Lohan) puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be. But as her dream gets closer to coming true, Maddie realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely."

The movie also stars Ayesha Curry as Maddie's friend Heather and Jane Seymour as Maddie's mother Rosemary Kelly. Jacinta Mulcahy, Matty McCabe and Dakota Lohan are additionally listed among the cast.

Janeen Damian directed the fantasy romantic comedy, which was written by Kirsten Hansen. Brad Krevoy and Michael Damian serve as producers on the film, which was filmed in location in Wicklow, Ireland.

"Irish Wish", set to be released on March 15, is Lohan's second Netflix original movie following her return to acting with holiday romcom "Falling for Christmas", which was released in 2022. The upcoming project is developed through a partnership where she would star in two new films for the streaming giant.
