AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's daughter has been dragged into controversy involving her father. Ava, born Simone Garcia Johnson, claims she has received death threats following the wrestler-turned-actor's recent WWE return.
Ava, who is following in her dad's footsteps as a wrestler, took to her account on X, formerly Twitter, to address the backlash. "can ya'll just leave me out of this ffs i'm busy running a SHOW," she posted on Monday, February 5. She added in a follow-up tweet, "death threats over a situation i have nothing to do with … bffr."
Ava's tweets came after The Rock returned to WWE TV and had a staredown with Roman Reigns on "SmackDown" last week. Many were criticizing the move as it seemingly derailed what was brewing between Cody Rhodes and Roman.
Nothing is set in stone when it comes to The Rock and Roman, but fans have been speculating that the two could face off at WrestleMania in April. Should this really happen, the "Black Adam" star will replace Cody, who earned that right after winning the Royal Rumble in January.
The Rock himself has received pushback following his WWE return. In his latest Instagram post, people left comments asking him to not replace Cody and let the 38-year-old wrestler finish his story.
"Why don't you drop out of wrestlemania instead," one person wrote in the comments section of the 51-year-old's Monday, February 5 post. Another penned, "We don't care bro, give Cody his Main Event back."
"Please put your ego aside and do the right thing. Yeah right," a third similarly begged. Fuming, a fourth WWE fan said, "We don't want you, homie." Someone else said, "Get out the WWE. Your not a wrestler #WeWantCody."
Trying to be polite, another chimed in, "Let's all agree that rock vs roman is a dream match everyone wants to see, just not this year cuz it's time for cody." A fan of The Rock added, "I love you so much dude but... #WeWantCody."
