AceShowbiz - The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has announced the nominations for its 55th annual NAACP Image Awards. Revealed on Thursday, January 25, the list sees Victoria Monet, Keke Palmer and Usher leading the race with multiple nominations.
The 34-year-old singer/songwriter is up for six awards, all in music categories. They include Outstanding New Artist, Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Album, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album, Outstanding Soul/R&B Song and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary).
Usher trails behind Victoria with five nods. He is vying for Entertainer of the Year, Outstanding Male Artist, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album, Outstanding Soul/R&B Song and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary).
The "U Got It Bad" hitmaker is pitted against Keke, Colman Domingo, Fantasia Barrino and Halle Bailey in the coveted Entertainer of the Year category. The "Nope" actress is additionally nominated for Outstanding Character Voice–Over Performance (Television), Outstanding Directing in a Television Movie or Special and Outstanding Arts and Entertainment Podcast.
Other stars bagging multiple nominations are Halle, Colman, Ayo Edebiri and Janelle Monae. "American Fiction" scores seven nominations, while "Abbott Elementary" leads in the TV field with a total of nine nominations.
The NAACP Image Awards is honoring outstanding performances in film, television, theatre, music and literature, with over 40 categories which are voted on by the NAACP members.

The public can vote online at https://naacpimageawards.net to pick the winners of select categories at the upcoming ceremony. Voting closes February 24 at 6 P.M. PT/9 P.M. ET, while the winners will be announced on March 16.
