In a new interview, the newly retired soccer champion also reveals how her NY Gotham teammates, her brother Kyle and best friend Liz Mumley show support for her as she processed the divorce news.

AceShowbiz - Ali Kreger revealed when she learned about her estranged wife Ashlyn Harris' divorce filing. In a new interview, the newly retired soccer champion shared that she found out that Ashlyn filed for divorce when she was practicing.

While speaking to SELF magazine, Ali said that she will "never forget that moment." She further recalled, “I found out at training. I was on the field. And I came off the field, in the locker room, and I was obviously devastated."

Ali added, "My entire team came over for a dance party the night the news broke." In order to process the news, Ali also revealed that she had to cancel a press conference and a clothes fitting that day.

Elsewhere in Ali's new interview, she talked about how her NY Gotham teammates reacted to the divorce news. She shared that they "just started walking through the door," adding, "All of them. At different times. Until 2 in the morning, we were there, just hanging out, dancing, putting music on YouTube."

Trying to console her, they also brought "wine and flowers, and just...themselves." Ali recounted, "They didn't even think twice. They didn't have to ask; they just showed up. They just kept coming in-from right after training, after their meetings, through 2 A.M. My kids were there, we were all there."

She went on saying, "Through these past five months, my friends have shown up in ways that I will cherish and remember forever. They are my true people. It's been so rewarding to see that, because you don't know how much of an impact you have, even on your personal friends, and when they show up for you, you're just like, 'Whoa - thank God.' "

Ali also received huge support from her brother, Kyle, and best friend, Liz Mumley, who traveled right away to New York from Virginia Beach to stay with her for a week and a half. The two also checked on her "every day" as she dealt with the divorce.

Ashlyn filed for divorce from Ali on September 19, 2023. The former USWNT players tied the knot on December 28, 2019 and share two kids together, daughter Sloane, 2, and son Ocean, 14 months.
