The two radio hosts receive online criticisms from social media users after sharing their opinions on the 'Kill Bill' songstress to the 'Not Gon' Cry' hitmaker.

AceShowbiz - Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy have found themselves in hot water following their remarks about SZA and Mary J. Blige. The two radio hosts were criticized by social media users for comparing the "Kill Bill" songstress to the "Not Gon' Cry" hitmaker.

Charlamagne and Envy received criticisms via Instagram on Monday, January 22. In the comments section of a blog's Instagram post about their opinions on SZA and Mary, one user in particular bluntly stated, "Comparing her to Mary J is absolute nonsense."

Another penned, "With all due respect, MARY is this generation's Mary. SZA can just be the best SZA, because her sound is so unique. She's one of a kind!" A third wrote, "Only modern day R&B hitting my soul like Mary's is Jazmine Sullivan. Sza is absolutely amazing though. She's def bringing a Grammy home, but they losing me with the Mary comparison. They feel completely different."

Meanwhile, a fourth noted, "SZA is a unique artist. Her & Mary aint nowhere near the same type. What is facts tho? SZA is a dope songwriter and she one of the hottest music artists in the game. Them numbers is numbering. Her 'CTRL' is still placed high on the Billboard chart and that came out in 2017. So that equals timeless. And 'SOS' been smackin records up. But im sure some of yal gon pull up and tear a black girl dahn cause you not a fan for whatever reason. But for this generation of R&B, SZA is gettin buckets."

The criticisms came after Charlamagne and Envy discussed SZA and Mary on their radio show "The Breakfast Club". In a short clip from a new episode of the show, Envy said, "I hate comparing artists but [SZA] is that next. When I look at SZA, I look at… I don't want to compare."

In response, Charlamagne stated, "I get what you are saying, that's what I mean. We had our Mary J Blige," prompting Envy to point out, "Right, that's what I was gonna compare. She is this generation's Mary." Charlamagne added, "We had our Beyonce Knowles, we still have our Beyonce. We had our Rihanna, we still have our Rihanna. She's on that top tier. She's one of those." Envy then added, "I agree."
