Following reports that original 'Jurassic Park' screenwriter David Koepp is on board the project, some fans express their excitement for the new installment while others say they're done with 'this garbage.'

AceShowbiz - Fans are divided about whether or not they need more "Jurassic World" movies. Following reports that a new installment of the sci-fi action film series is in the works at Universal, people have taken to social media to express their mixed response.

"I'm a total slut for the Jurassic films. Jurassic Park is blockbuster cinema perfection, and the rest of the films are comfort movies for me," an excited fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "I enjoy what each tried to do, despite them all being messy (except JW:D which is just bad). So I'll be seated, just please be good."

Another chimed in, "I swear on everything i was thinking about Jurassic Park for the past couple of days Now I can't wait for this." A third fan gushed, "Tears are legitimately welling up in my eyes."

Not everyone, however, is looking forward to another "Jurassic World" movie, with one of them saying, "I grew up wanting more, the latest were disappointing, just leave it be, carry on with the camp Cretaceous cartoons if you must but that should be it."

"This series hasn't been even remotely good since the original Jurassic Park Movie. Who wants this garbage?" another remarked. Also fed up with the disappointing new films, one other penned, "The 'Jurassic Park' franchise has been rinsed. The 1st one was good, the rest are just awful. So let's make another one. I don't think Hollywood gives a s**t any more ..."

The strong reactions came after it's reported that Universal Pictures has been developing an all-new "Jurassic World" movie with David Koepp writing the script. Koepp wrote the original 1993 "Jurassic Park", which was directed by Steven Spielberg, and its 1997 sequel "Jurassic Park: The Lost World".

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project has been in development for some time while it managed to be under the radar. The script is said to be "in a well-liked shape" with the studio expecting a possible 2025 release date.

There's no word on who will direct the new movie, but Frank Marshall, who oversaw the "Jurassic World" trilogy, is back producing along with another "Jurassic" vet, Patrick Crowley. Spielberg will executive produce via his Amblin Entertainment banner. Executive vp production development Sara Scott and creative executive of production development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for Universal.

Plot details are still unknown, but the upcoming movie is said to be launching a "new Jurassic era" with an all-new storyline. That would rule out the return of the characters played by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the "Jurassic World" trilogy.

But Pratt himself didn't seem expect to return for another "Jurassic" film after "Jurassic World: Dominion" (2022). "This is the sixth 'Jurassic' film, and it's the end of the franchise," he said on "Today" show when promoting the final film in the trilogy. "You got the legacy cast back - Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum - plus the cast of 'Jurassic World', all our storylines converging in a way that is very much a finale."

Neill, Dern and Goldblum starred in the original "Jurassic Park" (1993). Goldblum returned in its 1997 sequel "The Lost World", while Neill and Dern reunited for "Jurassic Park III" (2001). The trio got back together for the first time since the first film in "Dominion".
