The 'Underworld: Blood Wars' actress receives supportive messages after revealing that BAFTA 'could not guarantee' that Roy Battersby 'would be included in their in memoriam tribute.'

AceShowbiz - Kate Beckinsale has been supported by many following her protest to BAFTA. The "Underworld: Blood Wars" actress received supportive messages from social media users after blasting the British Academy of Film and Television Arts for a "horribly cold email" about her stepfather, Roy Battersby, likely not being a part of an In Memoriam segment.

On Thursday, January 18, the 50-year-old British actress received heartwarming support from Instagram users. In the comments section of her new Instagram post, one in particular wrote, "#BAFTA this is a disgrace, to even send an email of this kind is so disrespectful and heartless. I'm so sad for you all Kate," adding a red heart emoji.

Earlier that same day, Kate voiced her anger upon learning that her filmmaker stepfather Roy, who passed away at the age of 87 on January 10, might not be a part of BAFTAs In Memoriam segment. Along with a photo featuring herself and Roy holding a trophy, she wrote in a lengthy caption, "Here is a photo just after I presented my stepdad with the lifetime achievement Alan Parker Special Award BAFTA for his incredible work as a director in television."

"Today BAFTA told me they could not guarantee he would be included in their in memoriam tribute , to honor the industry members we have lost . So a man dead less than a week somehow has to audition in front of a committee after a decades long career (in which he has been awarded from said organization the highest accolade they have ) to decide IF his death is worth mentioning," she went on to say.

"If his work, his life ,his craft ,his mentoring , his heart and soul are worthy of a mention that he is gone . That , that has broken my heart all over again," Kate continued. "I am paralyzed ,sick and sickened and I will honor him and his work every day of my life."

In the same post, Kate revealed her mother's health condition, "***Oh and while I am at it, yes it is my mum briefly in the Netflix show 'Fool Me Once', for those who asked . And she has been gracefully and quietly dealing with stage four cancer for the last six years and just lost her husband." She concluded, "So thanks again , BAFTA for your horribly cold email."
