Howie Mandel has confronted Andy Cohen for dragging him in the past over Tom Sandoval's interview. The "America's Got Talent" judge asked for respect from the Bravo honcho after calling him a "jackhole" last year.
For the record, Andy dragged Howie after the latter hosted Tom on his "Howie Mandel Does Stuff" podcast in April 2023. The podcast appearance arrived in the wake of the bombshell revelation about Tom's affair with his "Vanderpump Rules" co-star, Raquel Leviss.
At the time, Andy said on "Watch What Happens Live", "Tonight's jackhole goes to the fact that Howie Mandel apparently didn't know what he was getting himself into with his interview of Tom Sandoval today." He added, "Because it seems like maybe he didn’t do his homework?"
When appearing on SiriusXM's "Andy Cohen Live" on Thursday, January 18, Howie took a chance to address the matter. The 68-year-old admitted that he hadn't seen "Vanderpump Rules" before interviewing Tom.
"Don't you respect me for that? Why am I a jackhole?" Howie asked Andy. The radio and TV show host then conceded that maybe Howie wasn't a "jackhole" after all and even said the whole situation ended up "working out well personally" for him.
"It kind of saved the grilling for me later at the reunion," he quipped. "So it actually, as it turns out, maybe I should give you the mazel instead because we do a jackhole and a mazel."
Howie said he received "so much hate" for giving Tom the platform to "bury himself." He even described the scenario as "having a deposition and then watching the courtroom" before calling out some of Tom's questionable stories at the time.
"He said he broke up [with girlfriend [Ariana Madix]. He told me a story about how she wanted to have kids and he went, 'Are you crazy? I broke up with you,' " he recalled his sit-down with the reality star/musician. "The next episode [of 'Vanderpump Rules'] has him and his buddy Tom Schwartz walking into a … fertility thing checking on his jizz, as he put it."
"I go, 'Well, that's not what he told me. He told me that he broke up with her and it was crazy that she wanted to have kids,' " he added.
